Versailles, July 1789. At the court of King Louis XVI, far from the growing unrest in Paris, the inhabitants of the palace lead a carefree and unbiased life. After the rumor of the storming of the Bastille reaches courtly society, escape plans are made behind the palace walls. Sidonie Laborde, however, Queen Marie Antoinette's devoted reader, refuses to believe the rumors and clings to her usual duties. She does not yet know that these will be the last three days she will spend at the side of her beloved queen...
